Shilce Secondary School is currently looking for volunteer teachers and student mentors for at least 3 months in English, Physics, Geography and Biology.
As a volunteer teacher and student mentor, you will be making a lasting, positive impact on the lives of all the children you will be working with.
Volunteer teachers are not necessarily required to have teaching experience, but should have the relevant subject specialization.
All volunteers will receive a general orientation on the nature and purpose of the Shilce Secondary School and will receive specific on-the-job training to provide them with the information and skills necessary to perform their volunteer assignment.
Commitment: Minimum of 3 months. To start as soon as possible.
This volunteer position will offer a unique opportunity to teach in an informal environment, to interact first-hand with their students, aged 14yrs -19yrs, who come from the less privileged areas of Nairobi, and to understand the unique and diversified Kenyan traditions and culture.
Volunteers will be assisted to find secure, affordable and nice houses to rent.
